Moree professional boxer TC Priestley is set to be a part of the biggest boxing event to take place on the Gold Coast next week.
The local boxer will be appearing on the Anthony Mundine v John Wayne Parr event, Worlds Collide, at the Cbus Super Stadium at the Gold Coast on Saturday, November 30.
Promoted by DDP Sports Management and BOXA, Worlds Collide stands to be the biggest boxing event to date to take place on the Gold Coast, and promises to deliver a pulsating event for fans across the nation.
The fight card will feature a star-studded line up of professional boxers, some Muay Thai action, some of Australia’s best female boxers and an NRL State of Origin player.
Priestley, the current Australian Super Featherweight Champion will take on former Australian Lightweight Champion Miles Zalewski in a six-round bout, and could end up being the fight of the night as the two Australian champions face off.
Priestley will be stepping up a division to fight at Lightweight, while Zalewski has only been beaten in one fight at this weight division. Zalewski may be considered the favourite, but Priestley has been training the house down and feeling strong and confident that he can deliver Zalewski his second career defeat.
Trained out of the Moree Boxing and Fitness gym under the coaching of Chalky Rice and Mark Pitts, Priestley has had one of his best preparations leading up to a fight. Both coaches agree that he has improved as a fighter since winning the Australian title back in April this year.
Priestley has sparred more than 100 rounds of boxing preparing for this fight, sparring against the likes of Commonwealth Games gold medallist Andrew Maloney, who just won a world title, and also Billel Dib, the WBA Oceania Super Featherweight Champion. Priestley also sparred Shannan Davey and Shannon Doole, who are of a similar height to Zalewski .
